Cassandra Brown 4 Mableton
Mableton Is On The Rise!
RUNOFF
Election Day: TUESDAY, APRIL 18, 2023
My name is Cassandra Brown. I have lived in Mableton for 20 years, and I'm running for the District 4 Council seat. Mableton is a safe space for its young people to grow, its families to put down roots, and its citizens to work and retire comfortably. As a long-time resident, I love it here and am passionate about what the city offers.
I'm excited to represent you in this journey as we propel Mableton towards its full potential. As your City Councilperson, I will address your concerns while working to create a fiscally conservative government that is ethical, transparent, and responsive to your needs.
As our city moves forward, we will create an aesthetically pleasing place that supports our existing businesses. With thoughtful planning and economic development we will attract new business opportunities for our people. And just as important to our community's health, I will work to protect our great existing parks and develop a long range plan to utilize our unused parkland for future generations.
Sincerely,
Cassandra Brown
Candidate, Mableton City Council
District 4

Meet Cassandra

Cassandra is a native of Decatur, Illinois, and raised in a working class family alongside my two sisters, Tammy and Kia. Both of our parents, William and Mae Dean, worked in local factories and stressed the importance of getting a good education.
After high school, Cassandra attended Tuskegee University on a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army.
My husband Jeff and I have been married for twenty years, and we have two adult daughters, Jasmine, Shanice, and Grandson, Zahir. We are also caretakers of my disabled sister Tammy.
Professionally, I worked for SITA, a global IT firm for 20 years, ultimately promoted to Director of Sales, where I negotiated complex, multi-million dollar contracts and managed budgets and staff across the US and Canada.
Cassandra currently works for one of the world's largest IT firms where I am responsible for business development and sales to large retail customers.

MY PLANS FOR MABLETON:
As a new city, we must get it "right" from the beginning. We can create the growth we'd like to see in a scalable and fiscally responsible manner. My focus will be on three key areas to ensure we are off to a good start.
Efficient Services For Residents
The City of Mableton will take over four key services from Cobb County; Sanitation, Code Enforcement, Planning/Zoning/Economic Development,
Parks and Recreation.
As your representative I will be focused on ensuring that these services are delivered at the same or better rate than what you pay today. Further, I will leverage my professional business experience to inform my decision making as we begin the work of setting up the City.
Ethical and Transparent Government
I will advocate for a strong ethical framework that includes conflict of interest and abuse rules, transparency requirements, and public input mechanisms. The citizens of Mableton should always have a voice in their government.
SMART Growth & Planning
Along with setting up City services, I will work to ensure that we have a comprehensive development plan, with short and long term goals, that centers community input and includes land use, zoning, and innovative growth principles.
