MEET CASSANDRA

Cassandra spent over 30 years in the IT field where she held leadership roles in operations, business development, and sales.  Cassandra recently left her corporate role to pursue a career in the non-profit sector where she works as Development Director for Students Without Mothers, providing scholarships, mentoring, and life skills to High School and College Students.

Married for 22 years, Cassandra and her husband Jeff have two adult daughters, a grandson, are caretakers for Cassandra’s younger sister with special needs, and have an unruly Shorkie named Miss Coco Brown.

She is the recipient of a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship. Cassandra attended Tuskegee University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army.

WHY I'M RUNNING

I'm running for City Council because Mableton is my home, and I believe in its potential. We have a strong, proud community, and together, we can make it even better.

Ten years ago, my husband and I welcomed my sister Tammy—who has special needs—into our home. We were grateful to find a wonderful day program for her, but I had to drive her 3.5 miles each day to The Village at Mableton shopping center to meet the Paratransit Bus.

On those twice-daily trips along Veterans Memorial, I would see the blight—abandoned warehouses, neglected car lots, and rundown tire shops. It weighed on me. I knew our community deserved better. Mableton wasn't getting the attention it deserved.

Over 20 years ago, my husband and I chose to buy our home in Mableton. In that time, we’ve seen Smyrna and other metro Atlanta cities transform into thriving, highly sought-after communities by shaping their futures with clear visions and long-term planning.

It is now Mableton’s turn. I’m running to bring my business background and deep love for this community to the work of building a city that reflects our values and aspirations. With thoughtful development, infrastructure improvements, and intentional planning, I believe we can unlock the potential that's been here all along.

We deserve a Mableton that embraces us at every stage of life—whether you're just starting, raising a family, or aging gracefully in place.

Together, we can create the Mableton that we deserve, a place where we can live, work, play, and thrive.

IN THE COMMUNITY

Cassandra has a passion and commitment to uplifting her community.
