MEET CASSANDRA
Cassandra is a proud 23-year resident and passionate advocate for Mableton. Originally from Decatur, Illinois, she was raised in a hardworking, close-knit family. Her parents, both union factory workers, instilled in her a deep appreciation for dedication, resilience, and the power of collective effort.
The recipient of a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship, Cassandra attended Tuskegee University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army.
Married for 22 years, Cassandra and her husband Jeff have two adult daughters, a grandson, are caretakers for Cassandra’s younger sister with special needs, and have an unruly Shorkie.
Professionally, Cassandra spent over 30 years in the IT field where she held leadership roles in operations, business development, and sales. Cassandra recently left her corporate role to embark on a career in the non-profit world and today works part time as Development Director for Students Without Mothers, an Atlanta based organization that provides scholarships, mentoring, and life skills for young people who’ve lost their mother.
